Rumpke Ballpark is honored to host the largest amateur softball tournament in the nation for 22 consecutive years, The Metro. See some of Cincinnati’s greatest softball players in our Cincinnati Softball Hall of Fame section!

History

RUMPKE BALLPARK TIME LINE

1971 Bill Rumpke Sr. partnered with his father, William F. Rumpke to construct a softball field.

1972 Rumpke Amusements was formed to manage Rumpke Ballpark.
Tom Rumpke and Walt Stepaniak partnered with Bill Rumpke to manage the ballpark. The concession building and maintenance buildings were constructed.

1975 Six acres were added to the field.

1976 Two more fields and more lighting were added.

1977 An irrigation system was added.

1984 Rumpke Ball Park began hosting the Metro Tournament.

2007 Today, hundreds of softball teams call Rumpke Ballpark home.
